Collins Street Photography - Face Painting with Aoife McCormack

Aoife is the beautiful lady in these photographs. She asked me would I like to work with her on a project that would take me completely out of my comfort zone so of course I said yes. We shot at night, in the cold, and I had no speed-lights or external flash. We made do with the torch from our phones and the ambient light from the city. I'm not a huge fan of too much grain in my images but I had to own it on this occasion and in the end I think it adds to the athmosphere of the photographs. Just a little sample below.

Werribee Gorge State Park - A hike with friends

I'm getting in to this hiking lark. If nothing else it gives me a chance to get out and use my camera more often. Even if I do have a bruise on my hip from it banging off it when I swing it round the back.

Below are some images from our hike at the weekend.

Montsalvat Wedding Photography - Hayley and Fergus

Hayley was just about to hop on a plane to New York on holidays when Fergus suggested she may have forgotten to pack something in the spare room. It was a pretty short engagement, only 7 months, they decided against an engagement party as they 'just wanted to get married already!"

As with all weddings, there were a few hiccups along the way, like Hayley's hair ending up orange a couple of days before the wedding. That didn't stop our industrious pair, with some quick remediation they were back on track.

They married on a crisp autumn day in Montsalvat in Eltham, just outside Melbourne CBD surrounded by all their friends and family. Hayley's father drove Hayley and her maids to the wedding in style, a vintage Aston Martin and Ferrari, no less. (we won't talk about them nearly overheating in holiday traffic on the way to the ceremony). Between that and the maids nearly toppling over in their heels on the way down the hill they ALMOST didn't get there. But they did and nothing mattered but Hayley and Fergus as they said their vows to one another in a short ceremony in the gardens of Montsalvat.

I'm so lucky to have met Hayley and Fergus in my year here in Australia and I wish you both health and happiness in your marriage from this day onwards.
