Borris House Wedding - Louise & Ciarán

I am delighted to finally blog Louise & Ciarán's wedding. Prepare yourself for a DIY extravaganza. Louise & Ciarán handmade each wonderful detail, using local produce and supplies along the way. In their own words "From the start, we said we wanted the day to be like a big, fun house party. The vibe was colourful, relaxed and fun. We wanted our guests to be constantly entertained and feel the love and happiness of the day, and we hope we achieved that." They certainly did - you'll love this wedding I promise.

Ciarán and Louise first met on a night out in Dublin wine bar, Leggs. While Ciarán was busy trying to chat Louise up, a thief took the chance to steal Louise's phone. Louise was pretty angry once she realised her phone was missing, and she thought maybe she'd frightened poor Ciarán away, until he asked for her email address - he's a clever one that Ciarán!

After such an eventful start, it didn't take long for Ciarán to win Louise's heart. A couple of days before Christmas 2013, Ciarán planned to bring Louise out for a romantic meal before going their separate ways for the holidays. Before the meal, Ciarán suggested going for a walk. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary to Louise until Ciarán sat down on a nearby bench. Immediately she knew what was coming and burst into tears. She was so overcome with emotion, she could barely even say yes.

Once engaged, Ciarán and Louise knew they wanted a wedding day that everyone would enjoy and decided they would use as much local produce as possible. Luckily for them they had plenty of local markets nearby and a host of talented friends and family who quickly got on board with all things DIY and my was there a lot of DIY. Louise is super organised, you should see her Pinterest, and with a vision in place it wasn't long before the wedding started to take shape. Louise's mother is a florist so she was lucky to have that help in the run up to and on the big day.
