Choosing your bridesmaids is a tough task. Choose wisely. Tradition dictates that you should ask your sisters or your future hubby's sisters however if they don't suit your wedding maybe it's ok to choose a friend. Your bridesmaids need to be your right hand women on the day so they can't let you down.
Make sure all the girls are in their dresses before you as you should always be the last to get ready. They should be on hand to help you in to yours.

Gallwey's Chocolate Cafe
I've been doing a lot of corporate work lately. One of my favourite jobs was Gallwey's Chocolate Cafe. This cafe is situated in the heart of the Viking Triangle on Henrietta St in Waterford City. Kevin and Laura are so welcoming and Laura makes the most amazing sandwiches known to man. Don't get me started about their hot chocolates and their mochas.
Their food is so good that while I was working on their photos my other half had to nip in and try their Vanilla Slice, based on the photos alone. If you're around the area pop in and say hello.
Tell them I sent you :)

Chic Weddings
Busy times at Katie Kavphoto at the moment. Had an email from new bridal publication Chic Weddings, from the publishers of RSVP magazine looking for a real wedding that I had done. Here's a sneak peak of the shots of Sarah and Thibault's gorgeous French wedding, last July. Watch out for the rest in the next issue of Chic Weddings magazine.
Thanks to the happy couple for having me shoot their special day and allowing me to share their photos.

Passage East
Another Summer photowalk with the PhotoNerds Camera Club. Luckily the rain held off and I was quite happy with some of the shots I took. Was a fairly murky day all in all, but I find that defused light is sometimes perfect for the results I look for! it brings out the different tones in the natural colours we encountered along the walk.
We started by trekking up the Hurt Hill which is not only a tough old climb up all those steps but is VERY green. At the top there is a converted church, it seems to be a holiday home of some sort but there is noone there at the moment and was obviously the home of the infamous goats which where stolen recently as there was some load of droppings around the place. Great view of the village from up there too.
We then went down to harbour with a focus (no pun intended) on up close shots to really pay attention the composition of our images. I got some interesting images involving the moss on the walls and the tires hanging there to stop the ferry from running into the wall and played around with close ups (well as close as I could get with a kit lens). The photo above is my favourite from the day.
