So the last wedding I blogged I went to college with the bride, well with this bride we go way back... right back to the first day of secondary school. Lorna knew my whole family (my Nana is a minor local celebrity :) ) so we knew each other pretty well by the time the wedding rolled around. I had also photographed Keith's sister Trudy's wedding the May previous. Busy year for the Byrne family.
Lorna and Keith's romance began in a similar fashion to a lot of Irish couples, upstairs in the Martello, Bray in the wee hours of the morning. It wasn't long before Keith was dropping to one knee and proposing to Lorna on a weekend away in Galway in the G Hotel (swanky). They had done some window shopping earlier that day looking at rings for a 'future date' so this groom knew what he was at. They kept it to themselves for a full 24 hours and enjoyed it just the two of them
The day dawned, wet and rainy but who cares right? Not this pair, they had wellies and brollys at the ready (talk about prepared!). The ceremony took place in St Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church, Roundwood and from there it was a short hop over to the Parkview Hotel for their ceremony (with a pit stop at Trudder Lodge for their formal portraits).
The two of them are sport's fanatics, namely GAA and soccer so they incorporated their loves of sport into their wedding without it coming across too cheesy. I just loved the cake, I thought the topper was a great touch. They had a whopping 240 people at their wedding day so they tried to keep it as local as possible for the guests by having the reception in the Parkview. I just love the reception room in the Parkview, look at those lights. It's just stunning. The staff are soooo easy to deal with too.
Without further ado I give you Mr and Mrs Byrne's big day.
